Dr. Steve Riley graduated from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He was then selected to complete a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Kansas State University. Dr. Riley completed a small animal surgical residency at the Ontario Veterinary College in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Riley became a board-certified veterinary surgeon in 1998, and has been in private referral practice performing orthopedic surgery on small animals in the Kansas City area for more than twenty years. He has performed thousands of TPLOs, MPL surgeries, FHOs, and fracture repairs during this time and loves returning patients to the activity they enjoy.
Outside of the Kansas City Canine Orthopedics, Dr. Riley is a private pilot and enjoys waterskiing and spending time on the Gulf Coast of Florida with his family (wife, two sons currently attending K-State and St. James Academy, yellow and black labs Chipper and Maverick, Turkey the cat and a few chickens).

DIPOLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF VETERINARY SURGEONS (DACVS)
Diplomate Certification, May 1996. Small Animal Surgical Residency completed at the University of Guelph, Ontario. Over the course of 3 years, specialized training, teaching, peer reviewed scientific research and a rigorous examination were completed to obtain specialist board certification.
