Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, Dr. Marko Stejskal graduated from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. He completed a small animal surgical residency at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, Athens, GA in 2015, became board-certified surgeon of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2016, and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2017. After the residency, Dr. Stejskal returned to Croatia to teach, advancing to assistant professor position and a head of the surgery department. In 2019 he decided to leave the academia and worked in the United Kingdom as a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognized specialist orthopedic surgeon at several prestigious referral hospitals. His main interests are the canine stifle, arthroscopy, fracture repair, angular limb deformity, the use of 3D technology, and total hip replacement procedures.

Dr. Stejskal is thrilled to have joined the Kansas City Canine Orthopedics to continue helping dogs and cats as a part of this great team. He and his wife Iva live with their beloved dog and cat, Van and Blic.
