Dr. Andrew Goodman
DVM, DACVS
DACVS: Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgery (Small Animal)
Dr. Andrew Goodman has been working in veterinary clinics since he was 16 years old and has never grown tired of helping owners and their pets- in fact, he feels honored to be in this position. He finds surgery particularly rewarding because he is able to make a positive impact on sick animals quickly. To this end, he has spent years undergoing advanced training and specialization in this field.
Dr. Goodman has practiced as a veterinary surgeon in large specialty hospitals in Arizona, New York, and Massachusetts. This includes years as a staff doctor at one of the oldest and largest veterinary teaching hospitals in the country, Angell Animal Medical Center. He was most recently part of the surgical team at Tufts University’s private practice- Tufts VETS.
He is excited to have relocated to Kansas City to help animals regain their quality of life through orthopedic treatment. Although a surgeon, he believes that surgical procedures should be reserved for patients when other options have been exhausted. Dr. Goodman treats every pet as if they were his own and takes pride in effectively communicating with their owners.
Dr. Goodman’s clinical interests include fracture repair, correction of angular limb deformities, arthroscopic evaluation and treatment of joint disease, and TPLO for the management of cranial cruciate ligament rupture.
He shares his home with his wife Ali (a board-certified veterinary dentist), two cats Tiki and Mango, and two dogs Finn and Nigel. In his free time, he enjoys playing competitive soccer and tennis and spending time with friends and family.
