Kimberly

Kimberly graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Colorado in September of 2007. She then went on to work as a Certified Veterinary Technician at Colorado Canine Orthopedics, specializing in the anesthesia, surgical assistance, and peri-operative care of patients undergoing advanced orthopedic surgeries. She moved to Washington State in 2011 where she worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the Neurology Department at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle. Kimberly was the first-choice anesthesia technician for patients that were considered challenging anesthetic candidates. She would also serve as the MRI technician, running the MRI unit to image the brain, spinal cord, and nerves of the cats, dogs, and occasional exotics/wildlife. Her veterinary neurology career continued with a move to Minnesota as her fiancée was accepted to the veterinary medical program at the University of Minnesota. After 4 years she returned to Colorado Canine Orthopedics where her path crossed with Dr. Sam Franklin.

Drs. Franklin was then very fortunate to recruit Kimberly to Kansas City Canine Orthopedics after moving to Kansas as Kimberly is truly one of the most gifted veterinary technicians in the country. She excels at performing anesthesia, analgesia including nerve blocks and epidurals can perform cross-sectional imaging such as CT and MRI, and is experienced and excellent in surgery as a sterile, surgical scrub assistant.
